TOPIK 105 Overseas Registration Guide - April 2026 Exam

January 3, 2026
Stylized World Map

January 14, 2026 Update

We've added Germany, Australia, USA (Texas), Canada and 11 other countries to this guide.

The official overseas registration schedule for the 105th TOPIK exam (April 2026) has been released.

While the 104th exam was held exclusively in Korea, the 105th TOPIK PBT (Paper-Based Test) is the first major opportunity for international candidates to take the exam in 2026. This exam will take place on April 11–12, 2026, depending on your local time zone. For the full 2026 exam calendar including IBT dates, see our TOPIK Exam Schedule.

Registration for many countries begins in January. Because seat capacities are strictly limited by local venues, many test centers fill up within hours—or sometimes minutes—of opening.

Before You Register: The 3 Golden Rules

Overseas registration is decentralized. Unlike in Korea where everyone uses one website, every country has its own rules.

  1. Know Your Method: Some countries (like Taiwan and Japan) are 100% online. Others (like Azerbaijan and parts of the USA) require you to physically walk into an office.
  2. Have Your "Digital & Physical" Photo Ready: For online regions, you need a JPG file under 200KB (3cm x 4cm ratio). For walk-in regions, you often need 2 physical ID photos to glue onto the application form.
  3. Cash is King: If your center requires walk-in registration (e.g., Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan), they almost never accept credit cards. Bring exact change in local currency.

ASIA

Taiwan (Taipei, Kaohsiung, Taichung)

Registration is fully online via the LTTC website. The center has specific photo requirements that affect many applications. Your digital photo should have a pure white background and clearly show both ears. Selfies and casual photos are often rejected.

Taiwan offers a structured refund timeline: you can get a 100% refund during the registration period, which drops to 50% for approximately one week after the deadline, and 0% thereafter.

Japan's registration is handled by the Korea Educational Foundation (KREF). Unlike some regions where you can just fill out a form as a guest, you need to create a "My Page" account on their system first. Create this account a few days before registration opens to avoid delays.

Japan has a clear refund policy with specific timelines. You can receive a full refund during the application period. Once the window closes, the refund amount drops to 50% or less depending on how close you are to the exam date.

China (Hong Kong)

Registration is conducted entirely online through the Hong Kong Korean International School website. Slots in Hong Kong are known to fill up quickly.

For the 105th TOPIK, registration opens on January 12, 2026 at 9:00 AM and closes on January 22, 2026 at 9:00 PM. The exam will be held on April 12, 2026. Each session has strict capacity limits: 500 seats for TOPIK I and 500 seats for TOPIK II. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis with no waiting list.

The application fee is HK$500 for TOPIK I and HK$600 for TOPIK II. Applicants should be aware of a common technical hurdle: the payment gateway used for this region often triggers browser pop-up blockers. Disable pop-up blockers for the site before registration opens to prevent your transaction from freezing mid-payment.

Uzbekistan (Tashkent & Fergana)

Registration Closed

All registration slots for Uzbekistan have been filled. Registration for the 105th TOPIK in Uzbekistan is now closed.

The 105th TOPIK in Uzbekistan will be held on April 12, 2026 (Sunday), with test locations in Tashkent, Samarkand, Urgench, Namangan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, and Fergana.

Uzbekistan operates a three-step registration system that is more complex than most other regions. The process requires account creation, online application, and in-person fee payment—all during separate time windows.

Step 1: Account Registration (Required First) Create your account on the TOPIK website between December 29, 2025 (10:00) and January 4, 2026 (24:00). You cannot register an account on the day of application, so complete this step early. The personal information you enter during account creation (name, passport number, date of birth, photo) will automatically populate your exam application and cannot be changed later, so ensure all details are accurate.

Step 2: Online Application (First-Come, First-Served) Uzbekistan separates online registration into two groups:

  • Diaspora Koreans (재외동포): January 6, 2026 (19:00) to January 7, 2026 (19:00)
  • General Applicants: January 9, 2026 (19:00) to January 10, 2026 (19:00)

Login to topiktashkec.uz at the designated time and select your exam level (TOPIK I or II) and test location. Registration is strictly first-come, first-served and closes immediately once capacity is reached. Servers often struggle with high traffic, so be prepared for technical difficulties. After completing your application, print your application form and payment slip from the website.

Step 3: Fee Payment (Registration Completion) Between January 12–23, 2026, visit the designated payment location in person during weekday business hours (09:00–18:00, closed 12:00–13:00 for lunch). Bring your printed application form, payment slip, and a copy of your ID (passport, birth certificate, or ID card). Only after paying in person will you receive your exam number and be confirmed as a registered test-taker.

Payment Locations:

  • Fergana: Korea International University, 55-B Alisher Navoiy, Fergana (+998-77-706-1015)
  • All other cities (Tashkent, Samarkand, Urgench, Namangan, Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh): Tashkent Korean Education Center, 3 Tallimarjon, Tashkent, 100005 (+998-71-291-81-82, ext. 123/124)

Important: If you complete online registration but fail to pay in person during the payment window, you will be barred from registering for the next TOPIK session. Additionally, your online application and supporting documents (passport, ID card, etc.) must match exactly, or your registration will be rejected.

The exam fees are 250,000 som for TOPIK I and 400,000 som for TOPIK II, payable in cash only.

  • Website: topiktashkec.uz
  • Tashkent Office: +998-71-291-81-82 (ext. 123, 124)
  • Fergana Office: +998-77-706-1015

Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek & Osh)

Kyrgyzstan uses a unique hybrid system that requires a phone reservation before you can visit to pay. You cannot simply walk in without an appointment.

  • Bishkek: Call 0500-01-71-79 or 0550-02-71-79 (Address: Isanova 79)
  • Osh: Call 0779-390376 (Address: Isanova 81)

Because the system is "First-Come, First-Served," you should call as early as possible. Once your reservation is confirmed, you must bring the exact cash for the fee to the center.

Kazakhstan (Almaty)

The Korean Education Center in Kazakhstan will host the 105th TOPIK on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Korean Education Center (Abay Ave 159A, Almaty).

Registration follows a two-step process: online registration followed by in-person payment. Online registration opens on January 23, 2026 at 10:00 AM. The registration link will be posted on the center's Instagram profile (@koreacenter.kz) at exactly 10:00 AM—you must have a Gmail account to register. Capacity is limited to 500 seats for TOPIK I and 500 seats for TOPIK II on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration may close very quickly once capacity is reached.

When completing the online form, attach a recent color photo (3x4 cm, JPG format, under 200KB, taken within the last 6 months) and a copy of your ID card (both sides) or passport. Birth certificates and other documents are not accepted. Foreign nationals must use their international passport.

After completing online registration, you must visit the Korean Education Center in person to pay:

  • TOPIK I payment: January 26, 2026 (10,000 KZT)
  • TOPIK II payment: January 27, 2026 (15,000 KZT)
  • Payment hours: 10:00-16:30 (lunch break 12:00-13:00)

Bring your completed paper application form (download from the website), 2 photos (3x4 cm) attached to the form, a copy of your ID or passport, and cash (exact change preferred—card payments and QR codes not accepted). Third-party payment is allowed for one person only. If you did not complete online registration, you cannot pay.

The list of registered applicants and the application form will be posted on koreacenter.or.kr. Check your assigned exam room on the website starting April 6, 2026.

Turkmenistan (Ashgabat)

The Azadi National Institute of World Languages (Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages) will host the 105th TOPIK on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Institute in Ashgabat.

Registration runs from January 14 to January 28, 2026 (weekdays 09:00-15:00). Applications must be submitted in person at the Azadi National Institute. Registration is first-come, first-served. Proxy registration is only allowed for immediate family members.

The exam fee is 70 manat for both TOPIK I and TOPIK II. When registering, bring three ID photos (3cm x 4cm), the exam fee in cash, and a valid ID (passport or ID card with photo, date of birth, and English name). Refund policy follows the registration center's guidelines.

Arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes before your exam starts. Bring your test slip, valid ID, and correction tape. Note that personal information corrections can only be made within 4 weeks of the score announcement date—errors due to applicant mistakes cannot be corrected. If fewer than 10 applicants register per level, that level may be cancelled.

Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur)

The 105th TOPIK in Malaysia will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL MIIT). Unlike most other regions where the exam is held on Saturday, Malaysia schedules its exam session on a Sunday, so be sure to mark your calendar accordingly.

Registration runs from January 2 to January 16, 2026, closing at 5:00 PM on the final day. Malaysia operates an email application system. Online portals and walk-in registration are not available. Download the official Word form (.doc format) from the Korean Education Center's blog, complete it digitally, and email it to topikinmalaysia@gmail.com along with your photo file and payment receipt.

The registration fees are RM 120 for TOPIK I and RM 170 for TOPIK II, payable via bank transfer to the CIMB Bank account specified in the official announcement. File format requirements are important for successful processing. Keep the application form in Word format. Do not convert it to PDF. Submit a JPG file under 200KB as your ID photo—use a formal ID-style photo, not a casual snapshot or selfie.

You should receive a confirmation email within 96 hours (4 days) after submitting your application. If you don't hear back, contact the center to verify your application was received.

Brunei (Bandar Seri Begawan)

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Brunei will host the 105th TOPIK on April 12, 2026 (Sunday) at the Embassy's Multipurpose Hall.

Registration is in-person only at the Embassy from January 12 to January 30, 2026, during the hours of 08:30 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:00. Brunei has one of the most restrictive capacity limits of any test center, with a maximum of just 14 applicants per level (14 for TOPIK I and 14 for TOPIK II). Seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Given the very limited availability, register as early as possible.

The registration fees are BND 35 for TOPIK I and BND 40 for TOPIK II. When you arrive to register, bring 2 physical ID photos (exactly 3cm x 4cm in size) and your valid ID card or passport. The small capacity and in-person only requirement means that applicants from outside Bandar Seri Begawan should plan their travel to the embassy carefully.

Bangladesh (Dhaka)

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bangladesh will host the 105th TOPIK on April 11, 2026 (Saturday) at American International University Bangladesh (AIUB).

Bangladesh operates a two-step registration process requiring online application followed by in-person payment at the Embassy. Capacity is limited to 600 applicants per level (TOPIK I and TOPIK II each), and the system closes automatically once maximum seats are filled.

Step 1: Online Application Online registration opens at 10:00 AM on January 11, 2026 (Sunday, Bangladesh Time) via the official TOPIK Bangladesh page. Before applying, prepare your photo file (JPG format, under 5MB, passport-style 3x4cm) and a copy of your Passport or NID (PDF format). Each applicant can only submit one application with one email address and one phone number. Duplicate applications from the same information will be cancelled.

Step 2: In-Person Payment After completing the online application, visit the Embassy to pay and receive your Registration Card. Payment is accepted only on January 16–17, 2026 (Friday and Saturday) during 09:30–12:00 and 13:30–16:30. Bring one copy of your NID or Passport along with the exam fee in cash. You can pay on behalf of family members or friends if you bring a copy of each applicant's ID. If you fail to pay during the designated window, your application will be cancelled without notice.

Important: The Embassy requests that applicants do not arrive early morning to form waiting lines. If you completed the online application successfully, you will be accommodated during the payment window.

The registration fees are BDT 3,500 for TOPIK I and BDT 4,500 for TOPIK II, payable in cash only. Paid fees are non-refundable.

On exam day, arrive at AIUB by 9:00 AM for TOPIK I or 12:00 PM for TOPIK II. Acceptable IDs include Passport, NID, or Driver's License. Birth certificates, copies of ID cards, and photos of ID cards are not accepted.

India (Bengaluru, Manipur)

The 105th TOPIK in India will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at multiple locations including Bengaluru and Manipur (with Delhi and Pune also confirmed).

Registration is expected to open in January-February 2026 and operates on a strict first-come, first-served basis. Capacity is limited to 200 seats per level at each location. The registration form will remain open until the deadline, but only applicants who receive a confirmation email will be considered successfully enrolled—simply filling out the form does not guarantee a spot.

The exam fees are 1,200 INR for TOPIK I and 1,500 INR for TOPIK II. Important: Payment details will only be shared with confirmed applicants. Any payments made by unconfirmed applicants will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Required Documents:

  • Valid ID: ONLY Aadhar Card (unmasked) or Passport in JPG format (must include name, date of birth, and address, under 200KB). No other ID proof is accepted.
  • Latest photograph: JPG format, 3cm x 4cm, 354×472 pixels, under 200KB. Must be in color, clear, front-facing (no sunglasses, earphones, cap/hat, hair covering face, or side angles). Unusable photos will result in rejection.
  • Signature in JPG format (under 100KB)
  • Disability certificate in PDF format (only for disabled applicants, under 500KB)

Important Notes:

  • If a confirmed applicant fails to make payment by the due date, the application will be cancelled
  • Any discrepancy between application form data and payment form data will result in cancellation
  • Persons with disabilities must provide a medical certificate

On Exam Day: Arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Bring your test identification card, valid ID (Passport or Aadhar card with photo, date of birth, and name—not expired), and correction tape/whitener.

EUROPE

United Kingdom

The Korean Education Centre UK has confirmed the 105th TOPIK will be held on April 11, 2026. For this session, five test venues are available: London (Westminster), Sheffield, Preston (UCLan), York, and Bristol.

Registration is open from January 12 to February 1. The application is generally done online via their specific announcement page. Fees are set at £55 for TOPIK I and £65 for TOPIK II. Note that the Bristol venue is specifically listed for the April exam only, so candidates in the southwest should prioritize this date.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if the registration website crashes?

This is common in high-traffic regions like Uzbekistan and Vietnam. If the site goes down, avoid refreshing the page repeatedly, as this can temporarily block your IP address. Instead, check the official Facebook page of your local Korean Education Center. They will often post alternative links (such as a backup Google Form) or announce a delay in registration.

Can I get a refund if I can't attend?

Refund policies vary by country. In Korea and Taiwan, you can typically get a 100% refund during the registration period and a 40–50% refund up until 1-2 weeks before the exam. In many "Walk-in" regions (like the USA, Philippines, and parts of Central Asia), the application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable once paid. Ask the staff about the "cancellation policy" before paying. This clarifies what refunds or changes are possible after you submit payment.

Can a friend register for me?

For "Walk-in" registration centers, your friend can usually register on your behalf by bringing three items: your completed application form (signed by you), your physical ID photos, and a photocopy of your valid ID (Passport/ID card). Some centers may request a "Letter of Authorization" signed by you. Consider preparing one in advance.
