TOPIK Exam Schedule 2027 - Dates for Korea, Overseas, PBT and IBT
There are 6 PBT exam dates and 6 IBT exam dates in 2027.
This information is for anyone planning to take the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean, also known as 한국어능력시험 or 토픽) in 2027, reflecting the official 2027 schedule announced by the Korean Ministry of Education (교육부) on September 29, 2026.
TOPIK has traditionally been paper-based, but since 2023 it has also been offered as an Internet-Based Test conducted on a computer. The paper-based version is called TOPIK PBT and the internet-based version is called TOPIK IBT.
In 2027 in Korea, TOPIK PBT will be held six times in January, April, May, July, October, and November, while TOPIK IBT will be held six times in February, March, June, August, October, and November.
The 110th, 111th, 112th, 113th, 114th, and 115th TOPIK tests (PBT) will be conducted in 2027, as well as the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd IBT exams. The TOPIK Speaking exam (which is separate from the general TOPIK) will be conducted three times in 2027 in March, June, and October. In other countries, TOPIK is usually offered fewer times than in Korea.
For now, TOPIK continues to be offered in both formats. Both modes will run in 2027, though the paper-based format will continue to be phased out over time. The same announcement also laid out a redesign of TOPIK from 2029, with AI grading and home tests, which we cover in TOPIK to be graded by AI.

The first two tests of the year, namely 110th PBT and 17th IBT, are scheduled to be held only in Korea. All other exams are set to be held in other countries as well, but the exact number of countries may differ per exam.

Result announcements are posted on the official TOPIK website on the dates listed, typically at 15:00 Korea Standard Time, and can be viewed by logging into your account at the TOPIK website.
Registering in Korea vs. Overseas
The registration periods in the tables above are for test-takers in Korea. If you're taking TOPIK in another country, several things work differently:
- Where to register: In Korea, you register online at topik.go.kr. Overseas, you register through the local test institution, such as a Korean Education Center, Korean embassy, university or partner organization. Depending on the institution, that can be online, by email, in person or by mail.
- Registration period: Overseas registration periods are set by each local institution and differ from the dates in Korea.
- Fees: Overseas fees are set locally and differ by country (see Exam Fees below for Korea).
- Which exams: The 110th PBT, the 17th IBT and all three speaking tests are held only in Korea. Each other country hosts only some of the remaining rounds, so check which ones your country offers before planning around a date.
- Exam day: PBT is held on Sunday in Korea. In 2026, overseas PBT was on Sunday in most of Asia and some of Europe, and on Saturday in the Americas, Africa, Oceania, the rest of Europe and a few Asian countries, which is why most PBT dates above span two days. Your local institution will confirm the day. IBT is held on Saturday everywhere.
- ID on exam day: In Korea, IDs other than a passport must be issued in Korea, and from January 2027, temporary documents such as immigration application receipts will no longer be accepted in place of an ID. Overseas, check-in procedures and ID rules are partly different, so check them with your local institution.
- Results: Results come out on the same date for everyone on the TOPIK website. Score certificates are issued through the website, though overseas institutions can request copies for their test-takers and hand them out locally.

Exam Fees
Fees applicable in Korea are as follows: TOPIK I (PBT) 40,000 KRW; TOPIK II (PBT) 55,000 KRW; TOPIK I (IBT) 70,000 KRW; TOPIK II (IBT) 95,000 KRW; TOPIK Speaking 80,000 KRW. In other countries, fees are set and announced by local authorities and may differ.
Availability by Country
TOPIK PBT is held in far more countries than IBT: 94 including Korea in 2026. That year, TOPIK IBT was available in Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Indonesia, Mongolia, Malaysia, Laos, Romania, and China (Hong Kong). Laos was added in 2026.
The 2027 announcement doesn't list countries. The overseas locations for each IBT exam are published on the TOPIK website about two to three months before the exam, and not every country hosts every exam. Vietnam (Hanoi, Danang, Ho Chi Minh)

Xiengkhouang, Laos
Registration is available at Samdong-Baekcheon Technical Vocational College in Phonsavan through walk-in or email by emailing pheng554455@gmail.com, calling +856-20-9878-7231 or +856-20-9442-9756, or visiting Li Village, Pek District, Xiengkhouang Province, Lao PDR.
Indonesia (Bali, Bandung)
In Bali, registration is available at Bali Korean School through email or online by emailing yayasanbinailmu20@gmail.com or calling 62-822-3655-1578. The online registration form changes for each exam and is linked in that exam's announcement.
In Bandung, registration is available online at the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), with separate forms for TOPIK I and TOPIK II. For questions, call 62(0)821-2624-290 or 62(0)822-6090-5037. Bandung was added for the 16th IBT in November 2026.
Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Samarkand, Fergana, Namangan)
