TOPIK Exam Schedule 2026 - Dates for Korea, Overseas, PBT and IBT

This information is for anyone planning to take the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean, also known as 한국어능력시험 or 토픽) in 2026, reflecting the official 2026 schedule published by the Korean Ministry of Education (교육부).

TOPIK has traditionally been paper-based, but since 2023 it has also been offered as an Internet-Based Test conducted on a computer. The paper-based version is called TOPIK PBT and the internet-based version is called TOPIK IBT.

In 2026 in Korea, TOPIK PBT will be held six times in January, April, May, July, October, and November, while TOPIK IBT will be held six times in February, March, June, September, October, and November.

The 104th, 105th, 106th, 107th, 108th, and 109th TOPIK tests (PBT) will be conducted in 2026, as well as the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th IBT exams. The TOPIK Speaking exam (which is separate from the general TOPIK) will be conducted three times in 2026 in March, June, and October. In other countries, TOPIK is usually offered fewer times than in Korea.

For now, TOPIK continues to be offered in both formats. Both modes will run in 2026, though the paper-based format will continue to be phased out over time.

The first two tests of the year, namely 104th PBT and 11th IBT, are scheduled to be held only in Korea. All other exams are set to be held in other countries as well, but the exact number of countries may differ per exam.

Registration dates may vary by country, so candidates should check with their country's affiliated institution or contact the local Korean embassy or Korean Culture Center for exact timelines and procedures.

Result announcements are posted on the official TOPIK website on the dates listed, typically at 15:00 Korea Standard Time, and can be viewed by logging into your account at the TOPIK website. Nnote that as of mid-October 2025, the TOPIK website is unavailable due to a data center fire.

Exam Fees

Fees applicable in Korea are as follows: TOPIK I (PBT) 40,000 KRW; TOPIK II (PBT) 55,000 KRW; TOPIK I (IBT) 70,000 KRW; TOPIK II (IBT) 95,000 KRW; TOPIK Speaking 80,000 KRW. In other countries, fees are set and announced by local authorities and may differ.

Availability by Country

IBT availability by country last year included Korea, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, China (Hong Kong), Philippines, USA (Guam), Indonesia, Malaysia, Romania, Thailand, Paraguay, and Mongolia. In 2026, IBT expands to include India, Nepal, Laos, and Bahrain in addition to those countries.

The exact countries per TOPIK edition have not yet been published by the Ministry of Education. This usually happens a few months before the exam, and we will update this page as soon as they are announced.
